Have to disagree. They were going great on the wets and they messed up big time sticking him out right behind Kimi which as you just said yourself cost him big time. That’s a blunder.lh13 wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 16:06It wasn't a blunder. Maybe the first lap on inters was bad, but then Verstappen was stuck behind Kimi for 2 laps so tyres weren't in their optimal condition.. Had he had those laps clean, able to generate heat in the tyres properly, he could have gotten pole easily, since he lost by a few tenths only.El Scorchio wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 16:02It was on the wets. The inters and that blunder from the RBR team was a game changer.
I doubt the pink cars have more race pace than the RB, I just hope Lance doesn't take out Verstappen in turn 1 should they get along side each other.
I think Lewis maximised it today as usual. I don't think there's anything wrong with the car either. These tyres are simply rubbish and it has been that way since Pirelli entered the sport. Been watching F1 since 1994 and I have never seen a car be on rails in wet conditions. That's just the beauty of it but you can visibly see that the car can do a lot more than the tyre provides in even normal dry conditions. The wets is just another world.godlameroso wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 16:06Hamilton said that they were struggling because there are fundamental things on the car that you can't change. I wonder what he meant by that? Starting 5th and 7th means something isn't working in these conditions, could cold water be affecting their brake ducts? Not enough temperature difference between the cross over duct and the brake and rim exhaust?PlatinumZealot wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 15:59Hmm Perez got a bit too greedy! But well done Lance! He's proven he is handy in slippery conditions.
Albon a bit closer to his teammate this weekend.
Mercedes really doesn't like when its too cold or too hot.
Oh Lord. Ferrari. Good on the dry track here, but totally sucked in the wet today. Vettel out-qualifies Leclerc for once.
Do we know which drivers are under investigation?El Scorchio wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 16:11Here’s one. How annoying will it be if Ronald MacMasi and the wrecking crew ruin it all by nmhanding out multiple penalties retrospectively for Q1?
It will be dry, but the track will be damp when the race starts, so they may have to start on inters. The track is called Intercity Istanbul Park, so maybe it's a race on inters?Just_a_fan wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 16:16So, assuming it's dry, everyone will be starting on the C3. Is it going to be a two stopper? If so, C3, C3, C2, otherwise C3, C2. The Mercs will struggle in the race as the temps are low and the surface is slippery so getting temperature in to the tyres will be difficult. If they can, they'll start to perform but I think it's big "if".
If 2.4s difference is "close" for you, then sure, by all means, he was closer.
Ah, starting on inters would allow inter, C3, C3 assuming a 2 stopper. The question is how many laps will it take to get a dry line. And once there's a dry line, overtaking will be extremely difficult.godlameroso wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 16:19It will be dry, but the track will be damp when the race starts, so they may have to start on inters. They haven’t said but potentially quite a few I think?Pramesi wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 16:18Do we know which drivers are under investigation?El Scorchio wrote: ↑14 Nov 2020, 16:11Here’s one.
