Next year the rules effectively freeze the chassis — so not sure why performsnce next year is a huge talking point given there should be a lot less change year on year

Big downforce nerf. If a team finds a trick, they can easily still be fastest.

Of course, i get that. But it’s minor changes compared to usual year on year changes, still.

I think it's a significant cut, and interestingly all the cuts happened at the rear, normally when they change things at the rear they make some changes at the front to match, but not this time.
They are letting teams balance out the front themselves.

Also Pirelli decided to force a new tire, one which no one liked (at least openly).

Ferrari just doesn't make up their mind about Resta...

I dont understand why they are sending away people when they need them the most now. Didnt simone design the 2017 and 2018 car?! Why to send someone like him away! Enrico Cardile already has to handle the Aero and the new 'performance department', now he'll handle the chassis too #-o

All part of the masterplan. I don’t think it’s appropriate to say Resta designed those cars but he certainly did head up the design teams

Ferrari just keeps on piling setbacks after setbacks. So hard to be a Ferrari fan rn :x
I really don't get what Binotto's plan is, if there even is a plan. Cuz it seems like he's reacting to things like an amateur rather than orchestrating his own.

Are Ferrari want to help HAAS (>> Schumacher) to be sure mr. Haas will not leave F1 after 2021 season if it will be bad?

I read a quote on AMuS from Günther Steiner:
We do not yet know exactly what position he [Resta] holds with us. But it will be a high one.

A bit weird of you ask me.

Maybe with the new regs, Ferrari wants to repeat what they did in 2016 for the 2017 season: use Haas wind tunnel allowance and CFD time to innovate for both teams. It worked then, maybe it will work now. I am surprised they didn't go AR route this time.

This is my point. And who is more suitable for that general top head of aero and chasis development. That is only explanation.

I didn't see a post where you made this point, I guess I didn't look hard enough :D
