Personally speaking I feel such teams should go to A1GP.

After going thru the USF1 web-site, which didn't take long, the entire thing just seems amateurish, to me anyway. There is absolutely not a shade of substance there, but a diary and two CV's, where the purpose of the latter is rather unclear.

Those guys must have had a blast dreaming this up. "Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor had quietly been working toward the formation of USF1, steadily making progress over the past four years."
Yeah right, take a class in how to type a readable CV to begin with.

Btw, Ken Anderson did not direct the design and build of the Windshear wind tunnel in North Carolina. This one explains it I think, picked up at www.crash.net:

"Please note the following clarification. Haas Automation Inc. is the sole owner of Windshear Inc. I am the project manager for Windshear Inc. Jacobs Engineering was the design-build contractor for Windshear Inc. Ken Anderson was a technical advisor for Windshear Inc.

Ken completed his tenure with Windshear Inc. a year ago to pursue his current project.

We wish Ken well and look forward to welcoming him as a customer in the future.

I think that Haas Automation is involved in this project, maybe they will sponsor the team or something like that?
From what i understand the approach that USF1 will use is to outsource a lot of things, this could be right or wrong, we will see...
I like that they will be more open to the fans :)

Maybe all this is just a hoax or an attempt of viral marketing for the Windshear Windtunnel. There has been more talking on this "exceptional" piece of american technology than on anything else. :^o

So far, all I have witnessed is a lot of talk. Nothing concrete, no staff, facilities, nothing. I will reserve judgement until I see something of substance.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

with quotes like these
"We've always had a very different approach and that approach will become visible as time goes on and this year unfolds."
"Most of the technology in Formula 1 comes from the United States to begin with,"
(? ? )
"The new USF1 team says it is committed to running American racers"
they might manage to actually run an F1 team but it won't be competitive

all the same good luck to them
..?

nahh.. He is English, grew up in Oz and now wants to be American. Good luck ot them.

We all now Toyota started over 18 months early with car testing and had to scrap the original motor for being too sloe..so they poached Gustav Brunner form Minardi to get them going.

If a USF1 car is not running in testing before the year is out I cannot see how they expect to be competitive at all. Unless they are going to buy chassis and engines and just run a satellite team??

No Peter Windsor was actually born in Melbourne CMSMJ1 thats the facts - and being a good Sheffield lad you would know my very good friends Joe Elliot and Phil Collen one of your greatest exports from Sheffield :)

Thanks axle. Windsor says in 2007:
"I would change nothing. I think F1 is fantastic as it is. If you want to watch a million meaningless overtaking manoeuvres and lots of shunts go and watch NASCAR or bikes or IRL or something."

Do you reckon the good ol' boys in Charlotte are aware of that one?

Hey Chaparral, I hear you..but Def Leppard!! :? :D

I watched the interview and he said it himself that he was not the typical USA person to be heading a US-centric team.

I was going to write that line after my quote... :P

Doesn't bother me where he comes from, as long as he brings a team...
