The pace difference between Lando and Daniel is way bigger than I expected

I'd be surprised if Daniel doesn't have any diffuser damage from the Gasly tap.

Looked like a hit to the rear tire. I don't think there was damage.

Norris looks relatively OK for P4. Perez won't have such a delta on tires for long.

I'd love for Aston Martin to be out of points.

If Daniel doesn't have damage then this gap to Lando is quite unexpected, especially since he said that he was more comfortable on a long run with the car.

On the bright side of things, Lando is absolutely shining today, blowing Leclerc out of the water considering Leclerc qualified around 0.2-0.3 ahead. Very impressed with Lando today.

I think Perez will be able to get Leclerc but not Norris. The gap is too large.

That would be absolutely perfect for the constructor's standings.

I think Leclerc will manage to defend. The tire difference is too small now.

Lando now settling in the low 1:35’s, he was actually in within half a second of Bottas and Hamilton’s times for a while... But with the 8 seconds to Leclerc he should be safe in 4th spot... Ric is the worrying one, last lap he was one second slower than Sainz and complaining about the tires

Daniel is struggling hard on these tires now, hopefully he doesn't lose out to Carlos. Not a good showing by Daniel today.

He's losing a lot of time indeed. He might not be able to hold 7th.

At least Perez got ahead of Leclerc, so the points lost to Ferrari by Daniel, are gained by Perez finishing ahead of Leclerc. He may still be able to hold off Carlos though. Let's hope.

Lando 2.0

We had the same at the start of last season after the first few races, but I have a feeling that this time it might stick.

Based on nothing but my own bias of course lol

Bravo to the whole team. Danny could do a little better but still we had the third best car on this race.

Very good race, the pace was way better on the long run compared to qualifying. ~0.8s off the leaders per lap, whereas last year I don't think there was any race where the long run pace was under a second. Finished nearly 13 seconds ahead of Leclerc with Norris, so that 0.2s gap on the qualifying flipped around today in McLaren's favor.

On the other hand, Daniel wasn't very good today, let's wait and see what is going to say after the race, but I definitely didn't expect this large gap between Lando and Daniel today (Lando on average around 0.4s faster per lap)

Our pace with Norris was nice. This was the one I expected from the result of the test. Ricciardo needs some race to find his pace.
