Now at Imola, the sun is under the clouds and the track temp is getting cooler, thus at Sky F1 they said Perez`s strategy starting on soft tyres is the best in these conditions...

Pirelli predicts the fastest strategy with 17-21 laps on soft then a second stint on medium tyres.
It`ll be interesting coz HAM and Max has the second faster strategy in their view ...

Could be a ding dong development battle this season. Driver mistakes and car reliability could be absolutely crucial.
Ferrari might enjoy that in 2022 if Merc/RBR are battling to the last race.

Im not so optimistic for PER. I don’t trust MAZ, I don’t trust TSU and having tyres to go long will maximise probabilities when the Virtual/Safety Cars is inevitably deployed.

I also have a sneaking suspicion one of RBs will go backwards at the start.

I trust the teams to know more than pirelli about what tires are the best.

The way I see it, the only advantage for soft tyres is at the start. Otherwise, after 2 laps it makes little to no difference.

It's pouring now apparently! Radar in link above seems very accurate (though delayed).

Don't think it'll rain during the race though.

So that means a start on rain tires and all strategies are out the window.

Alonso already lost a front wing, it's mixed wet (too wet for inters) and dry-ish (too dry for wets ... or was that some old footage?) in some parts of the track...

It looks like full wets for the drive to the grid

Half of the track is dry, other half is wet.

Whoever feels comfortable enough to run inters at the start will probably win this race.

Some teams have Gazebos up on the grid to keep the start grid dry!!

Officially that's probably to keep the car dry - wouldn't altering the state of the track on the grid be against the rules?
