Did Ocon and Alonso get by Vettel when he got the stop/go penalty?
"Sebastian there's very, you're a member of a very select few.. Stewart, Lauda, Piquet, Senna, Prost, Schumacher, Fangio.. VETTEL!"

only around 30 years of watching it (plus various other forms of motorsport) and running my own caterham. Are you seriously suggesting that it’s “fair” on racing merit.

It’s the rules. It’s been this way in many racing series for a long time. We’ve dealt with it in series you’ve never heard of.

Racing isn’t about merit. It’s entertainment.

I’m surprised by PERs lack of composure this race. He’s supposed to be the old head

Agreed, but most wont go and slap the helmet of the other guy.
That is not acceptable behavior
You're right but I'll cut him some slack. He's still young trying to prove himself and had a lot riding on this race.

That's racing. If this was NASCAR it would've been a fist fight.
Yeah, in Russel's head, the guy who just ran him onto the grass at 190mph is sat looking him square in the eye giving him the finger - I'm all for the safety of the drivers but lets not get dramatic about a little tap on the helmet.
True. I mean it’s not like he shoved him off the weigh station and into the wall of a garage!

Total joke to even have an opportunity of a podium after going off and losing well over a minute
Are you new to racing?
Clearly, there are two different perspectives here. One is "is everything according to the rules" and the other "are the rules fair if a driver can go off for a minute, and still compete for a podium a few laps later".

Those are two different questions (just like with the track limits in bahrain), hence such a discussion can easily turn shitshow unless everyone is clear which question is actually being discussed...

No, but people clearly are posting from a point of view that only suits “their driver”. Going by your handle, it’s fair to say your opinion is clouded by your fandom of Max.

I can remember at the AMA Superbike Daytona 200 about 20 years ago where the factory Ducati rider blew up, caused a red flag, they changed the engine, and he won.

As expected, condescending and presumptuous. My handle has nothing to do with Max. And I don’t do “fandom”. I fly airplanes and I’m Dutch. Get my handle?
I think you may need to rethink about the assertions and assumptions you make

Hamilton just got lucky today that the other accident happened so soon. That’s all there is to it.

But he’s likely going to finish second after being ninth which is also a superb recovery.

Yes, and that, even with the rules being what they are, how fortunate for there to have been a big crash that required a red flag - meaning not just closing the minute gap but also fixing all the damage - that it beggars belief.

It is what it is but such an incredible stroke of luck. I will say that it was also partly enabled by Hamilton doing well to reverse back onto the track.

Great damage limitation, Octo-God. Squared in the championship now. Back at zero.

Being gifted a lap, free wing change, using DRS to destroy lesser cars. Such good recovery  Lets not get ahead of ourselves, he did what was expected to after the restart but that's all.
