Tsunoda already flopping, not even able to replicate Gasly or Albon's first few races. Plus he has a bad attitude and is constantly swearing on the radio. Not impressed since his first go out in Bahrain.

I was thinking the same thing actually. Was quite excited about him in Bahrain, but not since.

Personally I think they should start handing out fines or penalties to drivers for excessive swearing over the radio. Heat of the moment is fine but not just a string of expletives after the horse has bolted.

Why penalties? Can't you handle it? Aren't you a grown person? If he swears too much the only problem it creates is for him as his team won't be impressed (unless he overperforms consistently) and might get rid of him.

Are people such a snowflakes (and I might add hypocrites) these days?

I’m fine with swearing per se and do it a lot, but just think it sets a really bad example to any young people watching and shows a lack of self control. These guys are meant to be role models. Like I said in the heat of the moment with a crash or an impact then fine, but not a string of expletives for no good reason.

Either the Mercs are sandbagging or the Red Bull really is still the class of the field. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Very much doubt the mediums will get you to Q3. Field is too tight. This is flipping awesome.

Bahrain showed us Mercedes lost 2 seconds, and RBR 1.3. If we compare 2020 qualifying and add those numbers we get 17.5 pole. Just interesting to see. I have a feeling Verstappen will knock this one out of the park though.

Then again the new turn 10 has minimum apex speed of ~83km/h in a very fast road car, so in an F1 car that number may be 130km/h, which will likely shave some time off the lap. Roughly .3 perhaps? So pole perhaps will be low 17's, with a mid 18's cut off for Q3. The new turn 10 is somewhere in between an average of turn 5 and turn 12 corner speed.

Man, I was off. Q3 cutoff was a 1:18.1

Well they had 8 tenths margin, the delta between the soft and medium can't be more than that.

I think Lewis used the soft tires from Q1. He only did a warmup lap on them. Don’t think there’s too much performance lost

He did do an outlap in q1 on softs, maybe those are the ones he used.

Definitely weren't looking as shiny as bottas' tyres for that final q2 lap. So probably used in some way before.

As Jenson just said, teams don't like it, and drivers shouldn't do it.
