Good point made by Brundle. If Hamilton pits so does Verstappen and he'll get another point

The RB is currently the dominant car.

Not slightly better. Dominant.
It has been since Monaco. But blue and red tinted 3d glasses by the max fans failed to see it.
The car is just plain faster everywhere. Nothing to do with driver ability. Especially if you have 3 tenths on the straight alone. Thats not down to the driver.

Mercedes need to develop their car.
For Sure!!

Have to pit Ham- 28s to bot
If they do it, than 4 or 3 laps before the finish. Otherwise Verstappen could do the same thing.

They'll do it on last few laps to prevent red bull pitting verstappen the next lap.
Yeah I thought the same but by that time, Per will be on bot gearbox so too tight a window

Dat race pace from Ferrari! So encouraging they can FIX problems. Seems the past few years they’ve had no answers. Now, one race on and things look promising. Rookie error from leclerc on lap one, but things happen and great driving and a great recovery since. All in all, super encouraging as a Ferrari fan.

Bottas is gonna get got, I think.
Perez has to go trough that same traffic, so it's gonna be hard.
He may just run out of laps but the pace difference is substantial.

Boring race. Mercedes have been utterly out developed not even better at tyre deg anymore. RB good at all tracks. Sad.

Season over if Merc doesn't have upgrades at some point.

They can't pit Lewis until the end of lap 69. Out lap on lap 70, fastest lap on lap 71.

If they pit earlier, Max will pit the following lap.

Edit- see.

It would need to be the penultimate lap. Max can't pit on the last lap and get fastest lap.

I don't see Mercedes doing it, however.

I’m not sure the risk/reward of any sort of problem in the pits is worth it. A single point is not going to mean anything in the grand scheme if this race is indicative of how the rest of the season will go.

I think Mercedes have written off this season in favour of 2022

Statement from Red Bull here. Merc has nothing on them at the moment. The exit of t1 is wobbly all the time for Hamilton, and traction out of turn 3 looks horrific all race. Add understeer in the last sector, and you get this. Max doesn’t even look to be close to the limit. The more worrying thing is that Merc only have minor updates coming for the remainder of the season. Pretty much game over.

It seems so. Overconfidence probably.
