Interesting to see the lines when you compare the crash to wellington straight just prior - Ham ahead, Max inside.
Not arguing with you at all, but in what you are saying, max should have yielded when they entered luffield as he was slightly behind and on the inside. It's a really difficult call no matter what side you take.

Max not wanting to give up caused that one.
Why should he give up?

This seems similar to the George Russell incident yesterday, so perhaps the penalty will be the same?

He was infront, he needed to make the corner. Should he drive off the track for Sir Lewis? Its not the first time Lewis did this manouver. Penalty should be given.
Lewis was alongside on the strait, that means Max has to leave room he can't just turn in on someone.
He was alongside and he hit his rear tyre.

To me alongside means front wheel along front wheel.
That's not what the rules say. I can't remember the specific rule off the top of my head but if any part of your car is alongside you are entitled to space. so if your front Wing is a long his back tire you're entitled to space

Racing incident all day long. Hamilton earned some space, and both drivers didn't give each other enough. Watched it loads of times now, Lewis missed the apex, Max turned towards the apex. Both to blame.
You can see on the sky pad that VER gave HAM room by reducing the steering angle. He absolutely gave HAM space as he knew he was there. Except HAM did nothing with the extra space and kept it tight with VER. To me it’s deliberately placing a car in a place on track to cause a collision.
so basically like leclerc and perez last race?? perez shut the door on divebomb leclerc pass attempt on turn 6 and look who got off with the penalty....

Lewis figured he wouldn't be up there with Schumacher until he also punted a championship rival off. Really solidifying his GOAT credentials here.

That isn’t the rule though.

Max put himself into that situation. By most rules, when he made the move right, he is suppose to stay there or creep back left. Instead he pushes Lewis right, swings left, and then dives into the apex.

With them both having a hand in it, it’s a racing incident.

Lewis also has some blame, it’s a high risk pass, Max has shown before to be aggressive (see Imola this year) , and it’s an aero dependent corner which being the following car is always going to make grip questionable.
Very sensible assessment… Fully agree with you

I'd love to see what diagram Mercedes have showing a rule break.

Maybe a penalty for Max here.
Something about tires. Was quite confusing as it almost sounded like he sent the email a while ago?

Third time in not so long space of time hamilton punts off a driver by hitting his rear wheel when he was beaten to a corner. Now a big penalty must be issued to prevent him from pulling same stunts in the future. 3rd TIME!!!
If George Russell gets 3 place grid drop for doing something similar to Sainz yesterday, then that must be a 10 second stop-go atleast, otherwise then don't give penalties at all just allow the drivers to crash. Amazing Chandhok is blaming Verstappen for giving Hamilton a car's width on the apex and then understeering into him by saying he didn't give him enough space. Missed the apex completely.

But we all know they will not even give Hamilton a penalty. Everything is a racing incident nowadays.

Hamilton was ahead and had steering on full lock, what more could he have done?
