You mean supersofts?

So far only Ferrari and Mercs managed to do 1.23:0 with softs.
Toro Rosso and Force India too:

Carlos Sainz Toro Rosso 1'23"134 +00"282
Sergio Pérez Force India 1'23"849 +00"997

2015 time for Rosberg 27/02/2015 : 1.22.792 (S)
2016 time for Raikkonen 03/03/2016 : 1.23.009 (S)

scariest, if you want my opinion.

I think the tyres have changed across the whole range... So you can't compare that directly.
I wouldn't be surprised if 2016 softs turn out to be 0.5s slower than 2015 softs.

That's not a dumb opinion.

Rosberg do 1.23.072 this week, with soft...

you're right, i hope !

Also dont forget the increased pressure pirelli is mandating now, that will slow them down a lot.

If I'm not totally wrong tyre pressures are considerably higher this year, slowing down the cars.

Looks like Lewis tried to select first just as he crossed the start/finish line...

AMuS mentioned that the much higher tyre pressures were what was causing the slower times.

So morning session finished.

Guess what, Sainz classified 2nd with 1:23.134 while at the same time having the lowest speed trap.

So it took them 2 weeks of testing and going on and on like the energizer bunny to finally break something. How many miles has that gearbox done?

I think the Gearbox may not be the same. I believe they shook down Chassis no 2 this week and No1 at previous test, so i expect they used all new parts, could be wrong.

I can easily imagine them using the same parts for the whole brouhaha. They ran, what, 19-20 race distances? Even with 2 power units it's quite formidable - to say the least.

From Tobi Grüner:

Mercedes told me break after powertrain issue will not be very long. Gearbox change not necessary.
