Perez did great to show that despite running into issues, still manages to bring in results.
A clear and undeniable difference compared to guys like Albon, whom instead might more likely have qualified P8 but then finished P19,
where Perez starts P19, but finishes P8 - right where it matters.

Monza is going to be fire,
and so much going on with the announcements of Bottas @ Alfa and Russell @ Mercedes.

The big question then will be: will we see Albon or de Vries @ Williams. I'm starting to feel de Vries is going to get a shot at it.
I'd be genuinly flabbergasted if de Vries is going to be picked @ Alfa instead of Mick. I really can't see that happening to be fair.

When Kimi and Leclerc were anounced at Sauber years ago, they made it very clear that Ferrari/Alfa have a deal for one seat in the team for the branding/engine. Kimi was Sauber’s own choice, while Lec and Gio are Ferrari drivers.

If Honda doesnt play a sponsorship role in 2022 how will Yuki still backed without any Honda logo on the car?

Because Honda is still actively supporting Red Bull in 2022?🙄

They will send a team of experts is all that is confirmed. But what has not been confirmed is whether the logo will be shown for corporate image reasons. Or who will be paying for the experts.

Corporate guys are generally cold hearted. If the Honda logo can't be shown it will be tough making a deal for Yuki. RedBull want to have Yuki there on merit rather than on being tied to the engine. And unlike this year i believe RedBull will be paying for Honda's services next year.

So Yuki sponsorship if required will be interesting. It's all moot if RedBull want him to stay on merits of his potential though.

The whole issue of Honda leaving F1 is that they don’t want their name synonymous with F1 anymore, so branding on the car wouldn’t make sense.

No. They wanted their F1 engineers to work on EV-tech instead.
F1 is still a great marketing ground for Honda. They have lots of fans. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Honda logo still be on the rear wing in 2022, as a marketing excersise.

I may be (very) wrong, but to me it sounds like having a seat for Yuki is part of the deal of the transferring of the engines, the experts and the knowledge. As far as I understand, Honda is giving much more to Red Bull than the other way around. It's possible that Honda demanded a "Honda driver" in F1. And given the relatively long time of negotiations, I see as possible that Honda were demanding that Yuki had such seat at RB, not AT.

All of this is hard speculation from my part, don't expect quotes or articles backing it.

If Giovinazzi loses his seat it will be quite tragic, but then this is how we know that F1 is a brutal sport as the guy has had no luck this season despite his good qualifying performances. All that is left is to score and in Monza, he will do that and cement his place on the grid for next year - Alfa Romeo has a very fast car on the straights.

But this is a very different car now. Perez did well, but in the car that comfortably won, the others did what they did in a car that even max could only bring home second or third.
Still very well done though

He would have done a lot better if he either put in a better quali lap, or didn't give himself a huge flatspot.

Bottas confirmed for Alfa. Russell will probably be announced tomorrow to let Alfa and Bottas have the spotlight for the day out of courtesy.
