I think that's because they went with a higher down-force design this year, and thus higher drag. Williams got caught out a lot last year, because they had a low drag low down-force design.

Pat Symonds said that they will retain the low-drag philosophy of last years car.

So no. They did not go with a high downforce design. They still have that straight line speed but so does Ferrari.
The cheapest sort of pride is national pride, every miserable fool who has nothing at all of which he can be proud adopts, as a last resource, pride in the nation to which he belongs; thus reimbursing himself for his own inferiority.

WRT Williams and Petrobras/Petronas, I think the hope is to switch to Petrobras in the future but they are quietly using Petronas fuel/lubricants for the time being.

I just hope nobody has car issues so we can get a decent race between Ham and Ros. And between Vettel and Kimi too!

Just for the sake of it:

Lap record at Sepang is 1'34''223 (2004, Montoya).

Oh yea F1 turbo cars are fast, no doubt about it. Pathetic.

Does anyone know what the penalty is for Massa using his extra set of FP1 tyres longer than the first half hour: does he now lose another set for the rest of the weekend?
