Why is seb 2.2 seconds off the pace despite using 2 sets of ultras and having clean laps? overheating those rears?
toasted and roasted
11:38 Vettel reports his "rears are like toast". It's been a tricky morning for tyre complaints up and down the pitlane, and plenty of that frustrated chatter has come from the Ferraris.

What has happened to Sainz? he is last in FP1...
Renault retired the cars early.
Still weird because Hulk has a decent lap time.

Massive flat spots and vibrations for both Renault's!!

Anyone have opinions on the "enhanced audio" lap? I think they were trying closer/shakier/more "dynamic" camera shots too. Audio didn't sound all that different to me.

Also the cool new heads up graphic covering the halo should please some here

I like that Liberty are trying some things out on the coverage.

Ferrari’s program seems different to the others - definitely running more fuel. Still an odd performance from them though. Redbull looks strong here. Lewis still well behind Bottas. I wonder what’s up there?

First of all, I still don't like this track. OK, the castle section is unique, but it's boring overall to be honest.

Verstappen probable for a gearbox change, he is doing it so wrong this year. What on earth has happened to him?

I'm really not naive to think that Ferrari will be like this for the rest of the weekend. Just like every weekend, you're gonna see them challenging for pole out of (seemingly) nowhere. It might even be Vettel P1 in Practice 2, it gets so predictable nowadays.

As expected, FI & Williams will deliver in this track, but what about Alonso? He's really well placed.

This session had so weird results... Sainz last, Williams in top 10, Alonso in top 10 but Vandoorne almost last, both Ferraris out of top 10...

The far end of Europe, at the edge of the Caucusus.
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel

My guess;

and.. to make things even better; Hamilton doesn’t want Ricciardo as a teammate
Vettel is the one drive that doesn't want Ricciardo as a teammate.
