I’m not saying it shouldn’t have been a penalty, just that I think he was at the wrong spot at the wrong time.

No, there was a digital board that went on just as he passed.yooogurt wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 20:58They were flags, not boards.proteus wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 20:26He might have caught the moment of a flickering marker, since he was infront. As far as i saw on the left though, it went on when Norris was beside. I bet Mclaren will take a good look at the video footage and if they see that board malfunctioned in that time, the race itself can get deleted.

The board is at the top, flag bellow?yooogurt wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 20:58They were flags, not boards.proteus wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 20:26He might have caught the moment of a flickering marker, since he was infront. Digital boards were switched on with delay, between them was a marshall that was waving a yellow flag. The penalty itself was to be given, but waiting to do it for so long was unprofessional to say the least.mwillems wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 21:00No, there was a digital board that went on just as he passed.yooogurt wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 20:58They were flags, not boards.proteus wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 20:26He might have caught the moment of a flickering marker, since he was infront. I seem to recall he lost at least 0.5 seconds, at least that is what the F1TV crew were saying. Lifting under yellows is more about signaling that you are aware and on the lookout, not actually slowing down.
Yes but with mitigating circumstances, applying the harshest penalty and to put it out of reach of appeal with a penalty not used in over 2 years?proteus wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 21:06Digital boards were switched on with delay, between them was a marshall that was waving a yellow flag. The Yellow was flashing on and off constantly. Was it even on when Leclerc and Sainz drove by? They were ~13 and ~17 seconds behind Verstappen, respectively.Slahinki wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 21:11https://x.com/victorabadf1/status/1863291044101554374
Neither Ferrari lifted for the yellows apparently.
Doesn't matter if the marshal was still waving the flags. But I have no way of checking that.bananapeel23 wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 21:14The Yellow was flashing on and off constantly. Well yes obviously, but the yellow flag was very intermittent and only flew on and off in a ~10 second timespan.Slahinki wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 21:16Doesn't matter if the marshal was still waving the flags. This tweet isn't 100% correct. Leclerc lifted in the minisector which is enough (and he had slowed down anyway). Sainz didn't lift at all but I'm not sure if he was under yellows then or not.Slahinki wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 21:11https://x.com/victorabadf1/status/1863291044101554374

is that you, DarthPiekus, under a different alias ?
This is clearly a LaLa Land hope, that someone will 'help' a client/friend. There are no friends on track, especially from rival teams. Outside, yes, inside, no. These guys may end up fighting with Ferraris and indirectly help Mclaren.
It should have been on, since the root issue had not been resolved at all.bananapeel23 wrote: ↑01 Dec 2024, 21:14The Yellow was flashing on and off constantly.
