How come they aren’t measuring the race distance by hours??

They used to have 6hrs races! Why 1812km exactly? 😂
December 18th is a national day in Qatar. Hence the 1812km of Losail.

Per the internet : "Qatar celebrates its National Day on the 18th of December each year to commemorate the country's unification in 1878."

Thought Peugeot would be running a rear wing this year, did they decide not to, or are updates not allowed yet??

Next race. They needed more time to redo the rear wheels.

I haven't noticed any changes on any of the returning cars.

Toyota used a joker according to reports. Not clear what that was.

Thanks. I don't know how the joker/wild-card development rules work. If it was a powertrain/chassis update then it wouldn't be visible. For the others if available they may hold them til later and use the first race to baseline hence no visible changes yet.

Still a beautiful race car, and interesting that they felt they had to move away from making the majority of downforce from the underbody.
Underbody downforce sounds good and efficient in theory, but really suffers when track surface is bumpy and uneven

Four-time Formula 1 world champion Sebastian Vettel's participation in the 24 Hours of Le Mans for Porsche’s Penske-run works team remains unclear despite impressing in his test last month.

Great race in Imola. Not if you are Tifosi sadly :( . I watched last 2 and a half hours and it was enjoyable. Much more than boredom fest of F1

I agree it was quite nice at the end but only because Ferrari made mistakes. Otherwise it would have just been a blowout like Porsche in Qatar. Ferrari had an excessive BOP boost after Qatar. They were already joint 2nd fastest car with Peugeot in Qatar. They just made too many driving errors and pit stop infringements so they finished well off the leaders. After Qatar, ACO gave them a BOP boost of +2.1% relative to Peugeot, a boost of +1.1% relative to Porsche and a boost of +0.33% relative to Toyota even though Toyota was miles slower than Ferrari in Qatar.

Antonio Fuoco's final stint was in another formula.

The pace order in Imola was

Ferrari
....
...
...
Toyota
Porsche
BMW
Cadillac - Peugeot
Lamborghini
Alpine
Isotta

Well, at least Ferrari fixed their tire deg issues here as well. Depressing sunday if it wasn’t my son’s birthday.

I'll go out on a limb and say the BOP will produce a very interesting race at Spa this weekend. Cadillac, Porsche, Ferrari, and Toyota all are in the same group based on the long runs in FP1 and FP2.
