There have been alot of very beautiful cars in F1 history. My personal favorite is the Ferrari 312.

Of the recent years i found some more beautiful than others. Generally the cars that are based on Newey's designs do look quite nice. But what a decent livery can achieve can be seen on this Honda RA107. While it looked hideous with it's race livery that black one made it look really nice.

I agree! Maybe beautiful isn't the right word but with all the horns and fins it's good looking, very fascinating and agressive... like a single-seater intergalactic gunship or something.

I was gonna put the R26 in there, but i think the R28 looks nicer with the Zero Keel front suspension.

I also concidered the Williams FW28 as well, but the air box was the deal killer for me.

From the seventies, maybe Stewart's Tyrrell 005 or the always appearing Lotus 78. Another personal favourite is the Williams FW07, as seen here

Cars from the eighties seem too "thick" IMHO, and the huge hatchback of the Lotus 95T makes it unattractive for me. I Like the late 80's Ferraris and the McLaren MP4/5. From the brutal ground effect area, my favourite is the Williams FW08 that crowned Keke Rosberg.

From the 90s I like the FW16 (yes, the 16), and I'd gladly pay a beer to anybody that finds a wallpaper-sized image of Damon Hill winning the 94 Japanese grand prix.

My favourite of this decade is the Mp4/17D, closely followed by the Ferrari F2002. I also have a picture of the F248... without propaganda, painted in rosso corsa and... with a black rear wing. Top quality stuff.

Finally, I don't share most people's blind love towards Senna in a Lotus 95T, although I presume they feel the same I do every time I see Mr. Clark on a Lotus (british racing green, please):

I'm pretty sure the car on the pic is the R25, not the R26. But I might be wrong because the R26 was tested with the narrow nose and still had those "simple" uper planes in early 2006 testing.

I agree 2006 cars were the most beautifull of the V8 era up to now, with williams FW28 being my first choice.




The '78 lotus in JPS livery IMO is the best looking F1 car ever. Also, this is one of my all-time favourite, from '78 too. The RSO1 in what should be the only possible livery on a Renault F1 car:



But I think Miguel has put everyone down with his astonishing picture of the T1G! You can clean modern F1's design as much as you want, you'll never obtain something cleaner than that car!

Personally, I still have a problem with finding anything attractive with large front wheeled, grooved tyred and narrow tracked F1 cars. But that's me.

As long as it is innovative, unique, and pushing the rules to the bleeding edge, then it is my favorite.
