The fourth fastest car, so yeah, podium should be possible. It's just the drivers that might screw it up.

With a lot of luck, possibly. Toro Rosso will be the 7th fastest. Force India, Lotus, and Mercedes are too strong for them.

I agree on here, the car is looking good but their drivers are both young, we get a bit of Jordan 1997 where both Ralf Schumacher as Fisichella where debuting.

If they kept Buemi and Alguersuari they surely had a chance for 4th, but now, no

love the look of this car, how come the inlets look smaller than ferrari's? i would have thought the works team would have better optimised the area needed to cool the radiators than the customer team, is the inlet under the airbox feeding the radiators too?

I think it's for KERS but then Ferrari have an extra inlet too, this time behind the airbox and another one in the bottom of the sidepods.

I am pretty sure that is just an oil leak or something like that causing the smoke, I have barely seen exhausts deploy smoke, only when there was something broke on the car.

Right, but wouldn't the exhaust wake blow the smoke from the leak therefore that's indicative of the direction of the exhaust?

I honestly doubt this is even coming from the exhaust, rather seems to be coming from the gearbox or something

No I agree the smoke is probably not from the exhaust, but being that the exhaust gasses have more force/speed that the smoke coming from below is going to rise>get caught in the exhaust wake and that is what is shown in the picture? Am I wrong?

I thought they weren't allowed to do well until RBR had secured the title ;)

It will just be the wake from the diffuser and beam wing, like the rooster tails you see in the wet.

Irrespective of the smoke, just look at the undercut on the sidepods, and the super clear space above the floor.

That's a heck of an undercut isn't it? I read an article before any cars launched where Ascanelli said he thought there were larger gains to get from the "double floor" than what they got out of it last year and he expected more teams to take that approach. Doesn't look like teams went quite as far as STR, but that's a serious undercut. With the way they finished off last year, they have a good chance of being pretty strong this year.

Have a look at the vanes on the floor, it seems they want to seal the diffusor with normal air stream. Would be nice if so. I'm awaiting this solution since the first car launch and think Red Bull will do so, too. =D>

I really wish that STR would use this livery. It would make them stand out from the Red Bull way more and it fits with sugarfree Redbull.
