Yep we will see. If Hamilton beats Bottas by 5 tenths then I will eat my hat, there's nothing between them in qualifying and to get gaps like that something is not right for the trailing driver.NathanOlder wrote: ↑02 Nov 2019, 11:37We will see Wass85
As for this weekend, If Bottas doesn't get within a couple of tenths of Lewis, you will look a little bit silly.
See above, I'm happy to have a little wager.Restomaniac wrote: ↑02 Nov 2019, 11:36Yes because that actually makes sense.Wass85 wrote: ↑02 Nov 2019, 11:28You are basically implying the same but the opposite way around.Restomaniac wrote: ↑02 Nov 2019, 11:25So suddenly practice does matter and what happens on the 2020 tyres is representative.
I can’t decide if it’s numerous people using this account or if your using a magic 8 ball for your answers
So according to you the practice lap does matter and the tyre test doesn't?
Hamilton has got the title in the bag, calm down and let's appreciate what will be an epic IMO.
2019 car + 2019 tyres + actual track we are racing on = real results.
A random test of 2020 tyres + 2019 car = suck it and see.
Ok then if it’s 5/10ths I’ll let you eat your hat.Wass85 wrote: ↑02 Nov 2019, 11:41See above, I'm happy to have a little wager.Restomaniac wrote: ↑02 Nov 2019, 11:36Yes because that actually makes sense.

Thought so.Restomaniac wrote: ↑02 Nov 2019, 12:00Offering to eat your hat isn’t a wager and that is all you’ve mentioned.
Anyway I’m done with this.
This is my take too. Even if Bottas is/was faster on those tyres he's not as much faster as the numbers suggested.NathanOlder wrote:Yeah they need as much data as possible, everyone would see and agree to that. So if thats the case, why would you run 2 cars on the same fuel.... why not run 1 heavier to get some different data ect.
Just a thought
The times seem too close to suggest they were running different fuel loads though. I think Lewis eventually got the gap down to just under 3 tenths if I'm not mistaken?ubuysa wrote: ↑02 Nov 2019, 13:13This is my take too. The point is that they're test tyres and we have no idea what testing they were doing. For sure it would have been stupid to squander a test by getting your two drivers to just go out and race each other.

the actual point is the 2020 cars aren't different from the 2019 carsRestomaniac wrote: ↑02 Nov 2019, 11:36Yes because that actually makes sense.Wass85 wrote: ↑02 Nov 2019, 11:28You are basically implying the same but the opposite way around.Restomaniac wrote: ↑02 Nov 2019, 11:25So suddenly practice does matter and what happens on the 2020 tyres is representative.

Yeah I saw that, didn't Bottas have the same though at first?
