I hope you're right. But with the situation at RBR I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

Agreed, things seem pretty tense at RBR ATM!

Of course, the media and online communities blow this thing out of proportion, but it does seem that RBR's position is "Vettel or nothing".

You are forgetting how much us Aussies like to be the under-dog, it fuels our drive and makes us strive even harder.

All you have to do is look back to battle of Galipoli in WW1, (our favorite national war story - it symbolizes our never give up attitude even when the odds are impossibly set against us), we got absolutely pasted by the Turks but put up such a fight they respect us for it to this day and both nations jointly celebrate the battle and pay homage to the brave Turks and ANZACS that died there every year.

Webber has choked in every championship I have ever seen him compete seriously for, and the mistakes always come at inopportune moments.

Having said that, I hope he wins as convincingly as he did last year and make life more uncomfortable for Red Bull.

It does make for rather amusing entertainment.
Somewhat like Red Bull hit the big time (they were fast last season but just too late) and don't quite know how to handle it.
As of now there is a 40% chance of showers for quali-day, it may not be a factor. But if they get the corners that tend to attract water wet enough it will be hydroplane city.

From Thursday's press conference:
Q: I think all four of you are from Sao Paulo. Just talk about your memories coming to the circuit, Bruno and Lucas.

Senna: My first memories of the circuit was television of course but first live memories are from 1993 when I came here for the first time to see Ayrton. I was able to go inside his 1992 McLaren and I was very small.

Barrichello: Do you remember me?

Senna: No, I don't remember you. You were too unknown. I didn't care about you. It was a great experience for me. I managed to come here in 1993 and 1994. I still don't remember you from 1994 anyway.
It was quite special. The first time I came here I drove a single seater. I drove an afternoon here, so it was the first time I drove a single seater. It is basically where my career started, so the circuit has very special meaning to me. Even though I have never raced here before and I have never done any relevant mileage here, it is still a circuit I know by heart very well.
What a jerk.

Anyways, I'm glad this GP is at a good morning hour for me, in comparison to the rest of the year when I have to get up a obscene hours on a sunday morning. Can't wait!

Yeah, perhaps, but it's rude and tasteless regardless. IMO.

Interestingly, this circuit has a characteristic that I very much like and would appreciate in other circuits; no super tight corners leading into and out of the main straight.

Image

And something that caught my eye just now as I was watching Barrichellos pole position lap from last year was that he crossed into the pitlane lane as he entered the main straight. Seeing how cars slow down a lot heading into the pitlane, this could potentially be dangerous as crossing into that area could result in an rear ending accident.

Especially I was always concerned about this :

If someone really cuts into the pit-entry lane, and loose the rear somehow, either by braking or wet track, the car could hit that pit lane / track barrier with huge speed. Despite protective tyres and other things there, it could be a huge incident.

They were all joking, this press conference was full of funny replies.

That is the danger of text only I suppose. If you hear the audio or see video then it would be easy to tell, but the written word (especially someone writing down what someone says) is dangerous in this way.

We had a similar incident a while back when a forum member mistook Webber and Vettel's jokes in a press conference about having a ride height system as fact and posted it as if it was damning evidence of Red Bull doing illegal stuff. lol.
