The material structure is still visible in the interior. I like it

Heat pumps are great till the temps drop down to almost zero degrees centigrade, then you need to add an electric Heating element to defrost the system Or run them in reverse which does the opposite of what you want when it’s cold.Big Tea wrote: ↑04 Jun 2020, 13:04Something that I wondered about recently was cabin heating. Wonder if it works in reverse? Low drain cooling in summer?djos wrote: ↑04 Jun 2020, 13:15Heat pumps are great till the temps drop down to almost zero degrees centigrade, then you need to add an electric Heating element to defrost the system Or run them in reverse which does the opposite of what you want when it’s cold.Big Tea wrote: ↑04 Jun 2020, 13:04Something that I wondered about recently was cabin heating. We have this issue in winter whenever the temps drop below ~4c.
You would think it'd be a reverse cycle heat pump - there's not much point in having two heat pumps (cause that is what a refrigerated AC unit also is, it just runs in the opposite direction).Big Tea wrote: ↑04 Jun 2020, 13:38Wonder if it works in reverse? What is the actual issue? Lack of heating or too much battery consumption?djos wrote: ↑04 Jun 2020, 13:15Heat pumps are great till the temps drop down to almost zero degrees centigrade, then you need to add an electric Heating element to defrost the system Or run them in reverse which does the opposite of what you want when it’s cold.Big Tea wrote: ↑04 Jun 2020, 13:04Something that I wondered about recently was cabin heating. I assumed it to be the tie in between the worst operating condition for the battery being the time of extra drain.Andres125sx wrote: ↑05 Jun 2020, 07:55What is the actual issue? Isn't that just the problem, that your radiator is freezing?Big Tea wrote: ↑05 Jun 2020, 11:39I assumed it to be the tie in between the worst operating condition for the battery being the time of extra drain.Andres125sx wrote: ↑05 Jun 2020, 07:55What is the actual issue? If any could be saved of the 'narrow end' it would be a disproportionate saving (on paper)
yes, but as he says, it is not going to bother 90% of drivers. If its that cold a car is probably not what you want.rscsr wrote: ↑05 Jun 2020, 12:09Isn't that just the problem, that your radiator is freezing?Big Tea wrote: ↑05 Jun 2020, 11:39I assumed it to be the tie in between the worst operating condition for the battery being the time of extra drain.Andres125sx wrote: ↑05 Jun 2020, 07:55

Very few people in the world are going to need that sort of car to commute many days in the very low minus conditions where that becomes a problem. No doubt there will be some, but probably not worth influencing the car design for just a couple % possible customers who could probably find better options than a 'sporting' style car if conditions were that bad.
