Max and Horner about Red Bull Powertrains: https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/red- ... /10492509/
Horner's been making a bit of noise about the new PU rules and wanting to row back on them. Kind of suggests RBR aren't happy with their results to date. If they were seeing "warp drive" results, they'd be very, very quiet about it.
Vasseur seems to be on the side of RB in allowing potential rule changes
Wolff is against changes so maybe Merc's PU guys are happy?

verstappen's fp1 lap 1:28.600
Some oversteer in T7, otherwise car seems to be on understeery side. Relatively low speed trough T1 and down to T3, I think I've seen higher on hard compound, so obviously it's still fp1 and playing around with settings. DRS-ed speed is highest of the lot, higher than albon even, but he has more speed un-DRSed.

Signs of worries about what proportion of energy is elecetrical vs ICE. Perhaps RBT is a bit less advanced in the MGUK aspect.

Remember Honda took a few years to get on top if it.
honda engineers didnt have racing experience some of them were just babies from college if u look at nhk videos though.Honda didnt even have kers experience.redbull on the other hand have manpower from merc, ferrari, cosworth.they even done kers on renault engine during v8 era.

There was more time left in s1. After passing the checkered flag he set a purple s1 that was 1 tenth faster on his 3rd flier on the softs.

BTW, didn't know it was allowed to not slow down after the end of the session.

You're right he was up 1 tenth, but it looks like he had some slipstream from albon.

Red Bull F1 engine plans ahead of schedule, dismisses rivals' “scaremongering”

Red Bull is ahead of schedule with its Formula 1 powertrains effort, says Max Verstappen, as the squad reckoned rivals were “scaremongering” over its progress.

Verstappen's remarks on the development are larded with references to racing jargon  :
“I think we started at the right time, and we are ahead of schedule. But you know, in one way, 2026 is just around the corner. So, a lot of things still need to be done.

“I think we are on a good track, but of course we have to keep on pushing flat out to be able to deliver a very strong engine.”

Max is absolutely genius with the media - accurate, funny and sarcastic altogether.

His media interviews never disappoint lately

There's plenty of laptime to come. Albon and Leclerc were miles faster in T3 and it looks like Verstappen is not pushing too hard there. He's down 10km/h to Albon in a Williams, and 15km/h to Leclerc. Verstappen has 2 tenths that he gave up there alone.

So wholesome that! Seen the interview on TV.

Max is awesome with the younger fans. Nice to see he has so much time for them. Guess that’s helped by the fact he looks after Penelope at home too alongside Kelly
