Here is Ivan Capelli's take on the F2012:

1) How was the F2012 in winter tests?
Enigmatic because they have done some good laps beside they have lots of problem. Maybe it could be pretactic but press-silence wouldn't make sense.

2) Has Ferrari done well to change the technical solution of the exhausts?
Yes, because when you have not working solution you have to take a step back. Even if Red Bull choice confirm that that is idea is good.

3) what will we see in Melbourne?
Even last year they hide themselves so:
1)RedBull
2)Mercedes
3)McLaren
4)Ferrari & Lotus

So according to Jose luis's tweets of taday, a crisis meeting was held today at maranello, they don't want to sack tombazis, but they think they need to further strenghten their aero dept.

That would mean that all the news guys from macca and merc that joined the designers office during the winter are still not enough... do that also mean they reckon they've got it wrong once again?

Indeed, also according to jose luis, monte and domenicalli are finalizing a m"ajor" signing , a genius of aero, a leader that is still missing.

Of course, the quesiton is : should we believe these informations? it all depends if you trust jose luis or not...

But still, if we consider this to be the thruth, it's quite appaling that with Fry, hamashima, byrne, and a handfull of guys who came in during the winter are not enough to lead the team to success.

Not talking about what sounds like being a "private test session" which will be held next week in suzuka , and M salo will be driving ( he's 45, for the record)...

Either Ferrari are bluffing, or we're really in a big big sh*t...

I bet the F2012 will be a beast in quali
:)
I agree! 8) But i wonder how car will behave in race  they can be really fast and suddenly slow, then again fast and again slow...to many mistery about this car and they have only 10-12 days to solve all his problems.

i have been watching joseluis's text for at least 3 months, i don't think that he has inside information, at least not so many. he hasn't said anything in detail, just logical stuff. if he has inside information, he would knew from jerez that car isn't in good shape, because at that moment all in ferrari knew that. ferrari is in trouble, how deep i don't know. i hope that their desing isn't fundamentally wrong and that it can be repaired. it is a realistic situation and it takes time to make things work. you can't fire people so easily. tombazis is gold for ferrari.i wish them all the best, and i dont read too much newspapers about this cause they don't know the real situation, they are just trying to sell newspapers.

Apart from Newey, what 'geniuses' are there to hire? They've already raided McLaren's finest, and seem to be the worse for it.

In the shadow of newey, prodromou abilities are probably underrated, even if newey himself praises his work (for example he wanted to share with him the "aerodynamicist of the year" prize some months ago). So that is the top name for leading aerodynamicist, in my opinion also.

There had been rumors of martin budkowski (mispelled probably - sorry) coming to ferrari. Currently he is taking a sabbatical from mclaren. He has worked for ferrari in the past, and probably they rate him highly.

They have taken larrson for cfd form sauber a couple of years ago, I do not know if they want to change him already.
If they are looking for a cfd leader, maybe they are taking someone from outside the f1 world: it could have a big impact if they improve their methodology (also with a look at computational effiiency, since teraflops are limited).

for what it's worth Prodromou's probably a hell of a CFD guy - didn't he start McLaren's entire CFD use?
