Kimi was the fastest in the end in S1. Lost out heavily in the middle sector. Think Vettel got the S2 purple.

Mighty close between the two teams even after the heavily updated car introduced by the Mercs.

Disappointing final laps from everyone. I guess the track was difficult with the wind and high temps.

Ham was up quarter of a second in s2 in his final attempt, and threw it (and some more) in s3. Likewise, Raikkonen in his first attempt was 0.06 up in the first 2 sectors, but lost more than half in the last.

Well, 2 wins a piece so far. I don't think a iron board nose or pointy bits is needed. Their philosophy seems to be working which is fine by me!

Because even after the massive upgrade push, there is still only 0.051 seconds between them.

Looks like Vettel used everything up before he hit S3.
S1 2/10th's up
S2 5/10th's up
S3 behind and P2. Yes I know he locked up but that could be because he had been pushing so hard in S1&2.

I'm just glad that we can still throw a blanket over the top 4.

Disagree. Without the upgrade package that Mercedes brought, they would have LOST THE POLE COMFORTABLY. Based on how the Ferrari went in Winter Testing and in the previous races (specifically on downforce sectors), I had a strong feeling that Ferrari would have taken the pole. I had mentioned the same earlier on this forum.

So, to me though, whatever upgrades Ferrari brought, Mercedes had a bigger gap to cover and looks like they have done that with the upgrade. Also, the reliability fixes that Mercedes has brought for the PU, doesn't look like have added any performance to the PU. Bottas and Hamilton went quite similar and without the mistake from Bottas on his first run, he probably would have had the pole.
