Anyway, he threw away the win yesterday and the most that was going to happen was 3rd.

I wouldn't say that, a safety car with 20 laps or so to go, and he would have had a very good shot at a win.

On to the next one, Abu Dhabi, despite what people think you don't need a lot of power to be fast there.

I think a direct comparison between Bottas and Hamilton this race is very unfair towards Bottas. With an uneventful quali Hamilton probably would've beaten him anyway, but in the race he had the MASSIVE benefit of,

1) Starting with unused soft tires
2) A very handy SC period at the start of the race
3) Setup optimized for race with no compromise towards quali
4) All new PU parts (this would've made a huge difference alone)

So... Yeah.

Hamilton had to scythe through traffic, but his car was so fast on the straights that as soon as he caught up with someone, he passed without losing too much time. The only exception I can remember of was Verstappen and maybe a little bit Perez.

Given a choice of Rec Bull drivers, today I would have picked Ricciardo. Verstappen seems to have lost any and all fire. Not a bad race after all, between the crazy start and Hamilton and Ricciardo being out of position. Enjoyed the Massa and Alonso scrap. Well deserved win for Ferrari today, they were there to pick up the pieces left by Hamilton's boneheaded shunt yesterday. It's clear it was Hamilton's race to lose and he went ahead and did that yesterday.

Great defending from Raikkonen, I was sure he was going to lose the last step on the podium and he didn't, no tires left at the end to make a challenge but I love those rare moments where we get a relentless attack on an equally strong defense and we had two of those this race.

Bottas simply needs more tenacity, he simply should have been able to mount much more of a challenge than he did. In the end, I'm happier with the race today than most of the races we've had this year, looking forward to a great finally in Abu Dhabi.

Why did Bottas roll over and let Vettel tickle his belly going into turn 1 at the start?

Also 1 thing I have had confirmed for me today. McLaren with the Renault when it works should be with the Red Bull.

No. im no Bottas fan, but he did the best he could chasing that ferrari. I don't think he could have got within 2 seconds.
He wasn't great but he didn't suck. Hamilton would have at leasted pressured vettel into an error or pass vettel in the pits. Bottas is a good rear gunner, just not a star driver.
I was disapointed in his lack of bite, but mehh.. can't expect more.

Max looked ordinary today. Almost like a rookie.
I guess when he is on the leader's pace and doesn't have chassis advantage he gets miserable and kills his tyres.
Ricciardo seemed like the more mature and effective driver today.

The problem is that Bottas is too passive at times.
Look at turn 1 today. On that first lap he pretty much waved Vettel through.

Agreed again. I can totally understand Grosjean's anger.

That is one of the best races Seb has driven! Lewis' pace was scary and it just shows the class of driver he is. He finished 4-5 seconds behind Bottas having started plum last with no help. I think Lewis would have finished 10+ seconds ahead of Vettel if he had qualified. Class drive from Seb to finish ahead of a Merc that was much faster.

I'm also one of Kimi's harshest critics and he did a great job today.

Seb and Valtteri were not managing anything at the front today by the way. They confessed that they were flat out.

This will make Abu Dhabi very interesting, as he will have the freshest engine of anyone in the top 6. hmm....
