Schumi on inters - had 1 lap - 1 lap to get the time in. 1 outlap, 1 hotlap. And he goes 3rd.
Everyone else had 4-5laps worth of experience on the inters. schumi does it in 1.
for me, he has proven this year that hes still got the raw skill.

if the track is wet enough, then the rubbered in part of the track is much more slippery than the rest of the tarmac, that is the reason to drive off the racing line, even when making turns, its faster to drive on the outside of the racing lineankitshah wrote:Alonso seems to be coming from behind too often. Was amazing last 3 mins of Q3 with the pole changing with every attempt. Seeing the replays of his lap now. Seems he was almost entirely driving away from the dry racing line where the drying line was not appearing. Was missing the apexes quite often and turns out those were the best lines to take
it will definitely be under the safety car if conditions are the same as q3.RB_[Gnx] wrote:Nice lap from Fernando and nice to see Schumi Performing well again !
Might be interesting the start tomorrow wheter under the SC or Not
Oh and Yes explosive 4th row with Maldonado and Hamilton hope they don't do anything stupid :p
Yeah, Schumacher did this a lot in Canada 2011.jz11 wrote:if the track is wet enough, then the rubbered in part of the track is much more slippery than the rest of the tarmac, that is the reason to drive off the racing line, even when making turns, its faster to drive on the outside of the racing lineankitshah wrote:Alonso seems to be coming from behind too often. That is certainly one possibility.jz11 wrote:if the track is wet enough, then the rubbered in part of the track is much more slippery than the rest of the tarmac, that is the reason to drive off the racing line, even when making turns, its faster to drive on the outside of the racing lineankitshah wrote:Alonso seems to be coming from behind too often. There's a very high chance of rain I believe.marcush. wrote:Schumacher stating :I left a margin as i definetely did not want to make a mistake...boy oh boy ...anyone with rain dance
expertise out there in Silverstone?
I suspect they'll struggle hard on them. They struggled in Q1 on inters too, not only that, but button's were entirely gone half way through Q1, I'd bet that Hamilton's were looking disasterous after Q1 and Q3 too.Shrieker wrote:I don't think McLaren will have a lot of problems tomorrow if they have to race on inters. IIRC, Lewis went out on full wets for Q3 but came back after his out lap to switch for inters. That's one lap less to heat the tyres compared to ones who went out on inters. Lewis was improving all the time (like everyone else, i know) but one more lap could really have given him the much needed heat. Wİll be interesting to see tomorrow. On a side note, Lewis had a BIG sideways moment on the last corner(I honestly tought he spun) that might've cost him over half a second. That could've been 5th easily.
I have a question about this. If Mclaren can't heat up the inters as quick as others, if the track becomes half dry at some point in the race does that give them an advantage in terms of overheating and degradation ?
