When he is comfortable with the car, he always does this. Look at Spa for instance: one of the only races last year when they achieved the balance he liked, and he bullied everyone in FP. Was the same for most of 2021 apart from the races where the balance wasn't good. When the car balance is worse he struggles more in free practices like in Bahrain last week.

Or it could be intimidation tactic yes. Make the opposition doubt if they're close enough to challenge, so they start looking over their shoulder rather than attempting to beat RB
I don't think we heard a radio message all session from Max (not to the Sky stream at least).

Did he say ANYTHING? :wtf: .
Yeah a bit. I had the team radio on. He complained about a little understeer into 22 on the hard tyres at the start of the session and then when he wasn't warned about Norris on a hotlap behind he got a bit annoyed with GP (which GP apologized for). Couple of other minor things like asking for more aggressive tools for t22 and saying he didn't want more front wing flap
GP has the best tools. Use your tools Max.

What is the meaning of "asking for more aggressive tools".

Is he talking about the electromagnets?

With the very obvious closing speed problems between cars doing cool down laps ( and prep laps) compared to the others I am surprised that there is not more done to reduce this big safety problem. It must be possible to put a limit on how slow you drive. This would have a performance impact but it would be the same for everyone. Do we have to have a big accident before it comes a priority? Or am I alone with this train of thought?

Looks like some time to be gained at T13 and T27 there. T1-2 and T22 looked good in particular
I'm shocked anyone can recognize any corner here outside of T22 from the onboards. I get immediately lost after the first corner, with "kinks" counting as corners and what not.
You have to drive the track few laps in f1 or assetto corsa then its easy

Looking like an uber tight Q1. Haas are flying or everyone else are sandbagging

Be silly to sandbag given the risk of red flags..

Do what red bull do and set a killer lap and park it in the garage and save tyres
