So, what exactly was the point of all this?
Did indeed Max and Bernie have no idea of the regulations?
Did they think the teams would accept it?
Or did they plan all the way from the start for all this to happen in order to make it easier to digest for 2010?
Or did they intend to allow FOTA a tiny little victory to provide the illusion the TEAMS actually have some authority as well?
And most importantly, am I starting to sound like a conspiracy theorist myself after all the people (namely, xpensive) I've told off for doing exactly that?!

Bernie and Max always seem to be trying to shove something down the teams' throats in an authoritarian tone first and then compromising second. They do need to be removed.

In the meantime they better sort this out soon because I need to know who I should bet on for the WDC: my Consistency pick or my Winner pick.

Love that classic British sense of understatement.

If USF1 were in the FOTA the statement would read "pissed the f**k off and ready to pop a cap in Bernie's ancient @$$."
that comment sent me back to team america f1 site and read this paragraph, talking about Brawn GP
There’s not much in it, but its this kind of thinking that got Ross Brawn to where he is today. FOTA sit around thinking about all sorts of cost cutting measures like making engines last for 3 races and using renewable energy. They also think long and hard about the community of fans supporting the teams and how they can involve them and come up with next to nothing. Here’s an idea guys, go bring the car to your local elementary school, give them some paint, liquid paper and some glue and bam, instant livery. It’ll look better than that --- Renault has plastered on it’s giant nose-car. It’s just like the French to build a car with a giant nose. We’re going to build one with a giant set of balls, because thats what we have here at Team America. We know our fans and theres nothing they want more than to see Americans with giant sets of balls beating the --- out of those Frenchpansies with their giant nose-car.
So funny!

Indeed, but did you see the part on Brawn jddh1?

"We take our hats off to Ross Brawn and we look forward to his bad teeth mobile in 2010."

Nothing to do with this thread whatsoever, but boy, did I laugh my teeth(!) out!

Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.

Let's just hope that this doesn't lead to the FIA screwing the teams in other was just to pay them back for their insubordination.

And who was the liar in all of this? Where is the accountability of the person that told the WMSC that the teams preferred this method over their own submitted method?

THAT person should be exposed, and banned from any further involvement in any WMSC proceedings!

I don't care much either way they do it. But it appears that Fota have read the rules and are right to ask for a delay due to lack of unanimosity.

I'm much more interested when they scrap the race fuel qually. I hate that.

2010 that won't exist.

Well not in the same capacity that it does now. With no in race refuelling it'll be quali on full tanks or fumes, and nothing in between.

What is their stated reason for still holding on to that?

Re: Points system to be scrapped for 2009

"On 17 March, the FIA World Motor Sport Council unanimously rejected FOTA’s proposed amendment to the points system for the Formula One Drivers’ Championship. The ‘winner takes all’ proposal made by the commercial rights holder (who had been told that the teams were in favour) was then approved.
So the WMSC believed the lie that the teams wanted Bernie's scheme more than their own?

I want to know if the WMSC has any kind of purjury rules. And I sincerely hope that the Journalists absolutely FRY Bernie in Melbourne by asking him:

"So Bernie, who was the person that lied to WMSC on your behalf?"
"Can you explain to me Bernie, how that person convinced the WMSC that the FOTA wanted the "winner-take-all" method instead of the method that was submitted by the FOTA themselves?"

And I hope that the Commercial Rights Holder is banned from any future WMSC proceedings, since technically, their responsibility does NOT include rule making, ONLY the marketing and promotion of F1 and its merchandise...

The reason that this stuff continuously happens is that no-one ever nails down the liars, and they are allowed to regroup, and come and lie again.

I just simply CANNOT understand the logic. How the hell did the WMSC believe that the FOTA wanted a system that was in direct contradiction to what they said that they wanted?

Rediculous, and I hope that this is settled and blocked for 2010 as well.

And for those "winner-take-all" supporters, don't fret. We will more than likely end up with ANOTHER championship that is down to the wire this year because that system in NOT being implemented.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy the 2009 season!

I'll die laughing when some slow ass driver wins the title win only 1 or 2 wins while another driver has 5 or 6 and some mechanical DNF's.

AHAHAHAHHA!

Now who is talking of extreme cases?

Remember, as you said earlier on this thread, THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN!
