What do you exactly mean by "curved" and "angular"?
From my sight, it seems the skidblock(step plane) is "raked" against the reference plane, ie, have an inclination to it.

And that is illegal!!! You arent allowed to use the nose hole for anything else then driver cooling.The two tubes are coming upto the tip of nose, that should for collecting air from the tip of nose
