Exxon working on three new fuels, Inc a special blend for Suzuka

https://headlines.yahoo.co.jp/hl?a=2019 ... 8-rcg-moto
Currently, ExxonMobil is developing three new fuels. One is the latest fuel, which can be introduced as soon as possible, which is now in the final stage of development, and it can be put into the Belgian GP at the end of summer vacation as early as possible.

The other is a further upgrade based on the fuel that has entered the final stage of development, and is currently experimenting with six different fuels. And, it is said that this is scheduled for release to the Japanese Grand Prix.

According to Exxon Mobil's David Tulsaki, "These new fuels are not necessarily introduced in line with Honda's power unit upgrades, but will be introduced as soon as they are ready." Then, the specifications to be introduced to the Japanese Grand Prix, with a smile, said, "May I call it Suzuka Special ".

In addition to these two fuels, they are also working on fuel development for 2021.

"With the current 1.6-liter hybrid turbo engine, the fuel upgrade performance improvement is by no means small. We will continue to develop with the cooperation of Honda
I think he means 2020 instead of 2021 as nothing is known about 2021 yet and first concepts even seem to be that nothimg changes on the PU side. And that I am sure they are not going to skip a whole year eithout upgrades.

I expect PUs in 2021 to start to slow down improvements as the cap kicks in. I have no idea how the cap gets instituted into the PUs.

The cost cap is only for the teams? Or is also applied to the PU manufacturers, but separately for the team cap?? (example Merc, Ferrari, and Renault that also have a team)

As I read the concept rules PU development is exempted from the cost cap. Also logical as it would then be a disadvantage to be a works team.

I always thought that the Honda way is the way it should go in F1. In other words if you manufacture a PU you shouldn't be in the chassis side of the sport. Even if it means Fiat Manufacturing the same PU for the Ferrari Chassis.

Anyways back to my original post. The 3 PUs in a season just makes it easier to control.

Yeah, however this whole thing still concerns me. How are they going to challenge Merc with:
-A technical director who is nearing retirement and has been constantly spending time on side projects such as the Valkyrie and sail boats
-Mercedes having twice the aero staff that RB have according to Newey
-Mercedes already having an advantage in chassis and engine while RB and Honda have to overcome that deficit first. It also allows Merc to focus on next year and 2021 earlier
-A quasi-works partnership with Honda, which is never the same as when you are a full works team (chassis and engine 1 constructor). There can be differences of opinion on which course to go as McLaren with Honda has shown, there can differences on the investment willing to do (chassis/team willing to outspend competition, engine manufacturer working on a budget or vice versa) as shown by RB and Renault, the engine manufacturer can suddenly decide to start their own team (McLaren Mercedes, RB Renault twice in last 15 years) or switch you from a dedicated works relation to a deal with you just being one of the customers and having to deal with it (Benetton and McLaren vs Ford if I am correct).

Just how are they supposed to beat Merc?

Max best time on inters was 1:32,659; Lec best lap 1:33,325, Vet - 1:34, 340 all lapping at the same time. Do we have to pray for wet race 😁..?
Forgot to mention that Max did only one lap  .

RBR is a team focused on developing the chasis. They don't have to split resources or personel to the PU side. If we put together the budget RBR have with the Honda budget, I think it should be near Merc and Ferrari levels. Same as human resources. A true works deal it's the same than Mercedes having chasis and PU teams I think

Wow try some more full stops.
I get what you saying though. But have some faith, this is the first year of the partnership. The signs are promising.

Hamilton on Red Bull:
When we get to the longer places like Monza, it could be different this year, they have a new power unit, they’re not lower than us on power.
“I think in some places they’ve got more power than us. It will be interesting to see how they go in those other places.”

AMUS: Red Bull still has to gain on the straights and in the slow corners compared to Mercedes. There is a tie in the medium-fast corners.

Well, tomorrow the Spec 3 kicks in. That should help on the straights 😎

Toto/Lewis speak. Whenever they do this they tend to blitz the field the same weekend by half a second or put in a fastest lap/win on tyres that were ‘completely gone’ or ‘not gonna last’ 20 laps earlier according to the same driver. Purely for PR reasons (in this dramatized “””reality””” tv age) to make it seem like they overcame some huge odds instead of having by far the best car for an unprecedented last 6 years (kudos to the design guys and the money guys enabling them to do their job, they are the real GOATS)

I dont trust a word they say anymore, just like Marko’s comments sometimes have to be taken with a grain of salt (too optimistic sometimes).
