I found this hilarious and it's been said that maybe Kimi is not motivated to race anymore but he was excited to go out and race even when he knew he would finish dead last.

I think they were hoping for another SC to unlap and get some points by overtaking slower cars in few laps

Is it possible to have BOT/VET/HAM lap and sector time when they were chasing Stroll?

Yeah, I was wondering why he didnt get anything, at the time I wasnt worrying about it as he went a lap down ect, but hen you see him come back to finish 2nd, its then you think, why did he get away with pushing kimi into the wall and wrecking kimi's race.

The stewards seem to not bother if the guy who did it, is also suffering damage. I think they need to change that to a grid penalty for the next race IMO

here, it's a short clip, but Bottas had no place to go then go onto the kerbs.
This is clearly Kimi's fault (racing incident though). He closed the line too much and forced Bottas on the kurb which bounced him outwards.
Bottas had the inside line and Kimi should respect that and give room.
Kimi clearly left enough space but Bottas being Bottas (Clumsy one in close racing) did his job as usual. Kimi is the type of racer who'll race hard against you but will leave you enough space

All against a first generation Ferrari 2017 engine.
the same old used up engine set fastest lap and clawed back a huge gap that Bottas had to vettel ,mind you Bottas was pushing trying to catch stroll. With an engine upgraded for this race,
Explain that away.
The Ferrari was just faster around Baku than Mercedes at that point in the race.
Please show me where i said The Ferrari was slower. I said Lewis gained on the strait and lost it all again at the end of sector 1 and the beginning of sector 2.
Hamilton was faster tan Seb, the clearly closed down the diffence when he needed to do it.

He did pull off some decent overtakes during the race to put himself in a position to ultimately inherit the victory, which admittedly was purely by chance. Max has been very unlucky this season with reliability.

The whole race was a bit of a farce, a win is a win, but I don't really feel like Riciardo or Stroll achieved anything other than being behind cars that had to pit for safety or penalties.
The question is what was the pace of Ricciardo compared to Vettel, Hamilton and Bottas. I can't find the lap times guys ? Because to be honest I have the feeling that RB were better on long run than Ferrari and maybe Bottas.
Ric was rediculously slow compared with Vet or Ham. They put nearly 6 sec in 7 laps on him after the restart and reduced the 22sec gap after the stops down to 6 sec. With a clean race and no SCs this would have ended up in Ric getting lapped...
No chance without the SC and the Mercs and Ferraris taking themselves out.

Ves had a better pace, but no idea how he could have cleared Per.
Ricciardo was indeed slower but not that slow. I guess he was driving "with one hand" because the difference was big enough and there was no need to take risks.

he was also slower when he was behind HAM and VET with fresh SS. Vet pulled the gap on used set easy...

Well, he punted Kimi out. He's done that twice now.. I don't know! I felt he deserved a penalty.
He 100% should have. He knows there's a kerb there, therefore he has to brake more to avoid jumping over it. Something he has not done.

What a race!!! :D

I´m so glad with Ricciardo victory... he deserve it. I was willing to see him after his second pitstop, when he was 10th but the only one with SS tires when everyone in front of him was using S tires. It was looking great for him at that point. But then the red flag allowed the rest to put SS tire too. Anycase he finally won

Lewis problem with the headrest was almost comical, if not ruining his race. I get the feeling anytime Vettel do something wrong, he somehow is not punished as strong as he should. He´s a lucky guy

Alonso: "What a shame, we could have won this race" was the sadest part of the race. I think it´s true, he was 5th and almost 4th at some point with a huge power deficit on a track with huge power demands. With a decent PU...

Ocon should be punished by FI with a GP out of the car. He ruined what looked like best race for FI ever. A victory was not out of reach, and they could have finsihed with both cars in the podium! :o . But Ocon crashed his team mate against the wall ruining both cars races.

And congratulations for Stroll too, after all the bashing he gets (not saying it´s not deserved :P ) that podium must be feeling soooo good

Great race overall, it even got some top drivers controversy with Vettel crashing into Hamilton, and then crashing into Hamilton again, this time intentionally, because one single time was not enough   #-o
