I think BOT was screwed more often than HAM.
and they had to unscrew BOT today more, than not to screw HAM.
So egos above race places now?

Why would Mercedes want to ‘screw’ their star-driver??

Some of you are just hilarious.
you witnessed it.

Because they get their calculations wrong. Monaco 2015, Austria 2016, Austria 2018 and here in Suzuka.

Mercedes first mistake was letting Ferrari mug them again with the first pit stop, then it unraveled from there. Lewis could've stayed out and disobeyed the instruction but didn't. Mercedes cant force Lewis' car into the pits.

The team put Hamilton on the worst strategy Hamilton was livid when he saw the gap to Bottas/Vettel. He then made it work for him and Mercedes just decided to suddenly say ‘yeah sorry Lewis we need ya to pit again even though you don’t need to because you’re too good and Valtteri is moaning so box please’.

If they had given Hamilton the same strategy as Bottas they would have probably jumped Vettel in the pits in 1 of the 2 pit stops. But no they were that keen to make sure that Bottas won that they threw Hamilton and a 1-2 under the bus!

I can’t believe Vettel got away with that false start when Kimi was penalised last time.

Tolerances and sensors blah blah. THE CAR VISIBLY MOVED. It also clearly impacted the cars around him.

Well it's pretty obvious now what Ferrari is doing. They can't beat Mercedes on race pace so they're heavily skewing their set up towards qualifying, hoping to be able to grab P1 and P2. If they do that they have a chance of using tactics to pull off a win.

Same situation with bottas austria 2017. I agree it's a BS rule and those limits should be reduced significantly, if not entirely removed.

Yeah, saw it in the timing app that something strange was happening. Not sure if race itself did actually go full distance in the end. I think it did, but if the timings showed race concluded a lap earlier it doesnt matter I believe.

Here's the stewards' report for the 'alleged' (lol) false start

Image

According to this article the rules regarding false starts have been amended for this season.
https://www.autosport.com/f1/news/13196 ... jumpstarts

And those changes were made
36.13 Either of the penalties under Articles 38.3c) or d) will be imposed on any driver who is judged
to have :
a) Moved before the start signal is given, such judgement being made by an FIA approved
and supplied transponder fitted to each car, or ;
b) Positioned his car on the starting grid in such a way that the transponder is unable to
detect the moment at which the car first moved from its grid position after the start
signal is given.
Oh and before anyone tries to murder me, here's the real thing

It worked for them didn't it? You saw Lewis tried and tried and just couldn't pass Vettel. Vettel lost the race largely due to his terrible start.
