The point is that in general penalties are a complete joke now. Pretty much everything is a slap on the wrist compared to what you are getting away with.

When you have a driver who is carrying so many penalty points for the last couple years, surely that warrants bigger punishment, than the one used for drivers who aren't carrying any.

So apparently a water leak is the reason why Perez was retired (water leak that would have significantly affected cooling and therefore overheating damage to the engine), meaning no fault in the engine itself.

That is not related to PU and hence, should be able to fix it, just the way it was fixed for Bottas.

The in race penalty options are as follows in order of severity.
  1. 5 second time penalty
  2. 10 second time penalty

  7. banned form the next race
The only other penalty is a grid drop for the next race. The stewards are far to lax when it comes to penalizing drivers.

Drive through, and mandatory stop and go time penalties should be issued far more often to keep the drivers in check.

polystyrene boards that make drivers wiggle around them are the perfect example of what should have been on that escape road, but there was nothing instead, so both Max and KMag went straight instead of even pretending to steer in a direction of that corner, KMag at least had the sense to give the gained time up, Max - not so much

Yeah he is a great driver if he can keep his cool at the start we might have seen race between champions.
