Mercedes AMG F1 W07

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

This car is a work of art. No other car on the grid has anything close to the technical body parts as this.

I am not sure what you mean "this process is made"

I am guessing you're asking what's going on.

The person in the picture is using a UV flash light also colloquially referred to as a blacklight to cause the viz-flo to glow florescent and taking a picture of the patterns. Merc is using a UV reacting viz-flo paint - makes it harder to just take a regular pic with regular light and see the flow patterns so no competitors can see it either.

Mercedes seem to have the softest damper stiffness compared to most teams on the grid, but still have performance

The low front wishbones are a big contributor there - look at them versus the Williams for example.

When comparing Rosberg and Verstappen in sector3 in RUSSIAN GP circuit,
The front suspention of W07 was well stroke and rosberg steering smooth.
But which of Toro Rrosso ST11 was seen so stiff for me and was very few suspension stroke,
so that in sector3 of the circuit, Verstappen had handle more his stearing.

I think the suspention of Mercedes W07 was innovative.
A tire grips it well on any road surface, and height of car is kept, too.
When possible somebody teach me, the mechanism of front suspension of Mercedes W07.

Like what I've posted above, in this video https://vimeo.com/165344465 at 17:00 in, notice that when Hamilton goes over the 'bumpy chicane', only his outside front suspension bounces instead of the inside one.

+ Mercedes are known to run with very soft springs/dampers and anti-roll bars, however - if anti-roll bars are very soft, the usual thing that will happen is inner suspension will bounce/extend toward the ground, but in Mercedes' case, it does not.

What I'm inferring from Mercedes' suspension is that the inside suspensions are "pushed down" and loaded, instead of the usual unloading/extending downwards, on the inside.

i.e. When they turn left, both the usual outside suspension is loaded, as well as their inner suspension.

Here's an example of what I'm trying to say.
https://streamable.com/i131 - AbuDhabi 2015, then Russia 2016

Watch the inner suspension (apex suspension). It is stiff as hell. BUT it gets the most extension and bounce when it is the outer suspension (non-apex)
