That last one is good news- if they can make a car that is this close to the rest of the fiels in such a short space of time, then what will the 2012 car be like with a full development cycle? HRT really seems to have a properly sorted technical department now.cbbcisace wrote:This is what Geoff Willis mentioned in his plus article on Autosport:
- The Wind tunnel programme will start from June onwards.
- A technical office will be built near to the 2nd wind tunnel at Brackley.
- Hispania is a "different but rewarding" challenge.
- Started the 2011 car on the 15th December and normally would have taken 16 weeks, but completed in 13 (Australia Race).
- The F111 is 80% new.
- Quite relieved that Hispania didn't qualify in Australia as the personnel was working far too hard.
- Things the Dallara set up was completely wrong, with the design of the car with them and the operational side with Hispania
- The 2012 car will be brand new and should start developing that car as other teams do from this year.

By my reckoning, i think they are looking to employ arround at minium 40-50 to bolster their team. This will more or less make their team swell from arround the 85-95 mark to arround the 145 mark at least. To think that will put them as the seecond smallest team on personell, if you exclude outsource and consultancy personell.
They will be arround 70 short of what Team Lotus and STR have, as they have arround 225 employees, but Virgin ir rumored to work with arround 120 employees from 2 diffrent main companies.
Just design a new mating flange and redo certain dimensions on the housing I think.. Nothing more difficult.cbbcisace wrote:With the rumours of Williams possibly using Renault engines next year, what happens to Hispania and Williams partnership i.e gearboxes and associated tech?
..Maybe be the occasional Virgin, I would put Puyol to operate the rear wheel jack but I definitely wouldnโt let Sergio Ramos anywhere near the tyres. Footballs number one team (Spain) together with Formula ones last/second last team!n smikle wrote:http://img36.imageshack.us/i/puyolhispania.jpg
Puyol is not going to be of any use, is he? There is simply nobody to defend against in an HRT!
