First hi :) I want to ask you from were i can download the program?
Tonn wrote:They say, future is like walking in past. I was looking some old pictures and thought that FW26 like front wing could work quite well on 2010 car . It connects nicely with my H-shape chassis.

But I have to say it still looks weird.
Woho,my idea from long time :) If you can can you send it to me to make my edits, after gibing me link on the program? :)

A big step forward. I have some CFD power on my hands now.
My first analysis. I compared my old and new front wings.
Here are some speed and pressure pictures.
Speed is 30 m/s

Old:

Downforce 621N
Drag 195N

Downforce 671N
Drag 191N

Does those numbers seem realistic?

I expect at least 150kg at 30ms but i could be way off. What program are you using, looks like Solidworks?

700N is a bit low isn't it? I would expect more, a lot more actually. Do you have a moving floor under the wing or is it stationary? Moving floor should make a big difference

CFD program is CFDesign
The floor is stationary

Well that would be the issue. I use CFDesign for all my CFD as well and you need to include both a moving floor and define separate material properties from the ones the program comes with. This will overestimate though because there are no flow disturbances from things like the supports, suspension, and chassis. Downstream effects can play a big role in CFD as long as you are subsonic and the closest downstream objects to this are two very quickly spinning tires.

I did alot of CFD for my FSAE team and for a Clean Snowmobile Team. Ended up building a computer just to do CFD, but its still isnt enough. Rotating wheels require such a tight mesh that it gets hard to get accurate results.

Hello
Beautiful simulation – nice work =D> .
Do anybody know for what are “wave” details on the end front wing (just before plates on the end).
On simulation (pictures) – there is some “clean” air just before a front of F1car tyres because of “this” details.

BTW: Some , for example RENAULT, photos shows, that front wing evaluate (they haven’t it during first test – now have – like most of F1teams.

Some random pictures and new details on car (mostly ultra small updates to make it easier to mesh in CFD), also a simple livery. And some pictures of rear wing in CFD.

if you do not mind may i ask few questions:

1. What was the size of computation in terms of number of cells.
2. What turbulence model did you use.

PS: sorry for poking in, this is my first post and i have to start somewhere. This is of interest to me (and may be you too) so.
