Mercedes AMG F1 W05

Agreed, they should either make the engine cover all black, or get rid of the black altogether. This airbrush effect just looks bad.

I took the design choice with the black element to its logical conclusion a couple of weeks ago:

But going all silver would be just as fine, probably even preferable.

If they're able to run that much rake would Merc need to consider the McLaren style rear wishbones?

While not a mutual requirement, it's a mutual benefit: the 2 solutions work in tandem and I think more downforce will be produced then just the summation of both seperate solutions.
This maybe a daft question but could the addition of the mushroom suspension to a rakey car cause the diffuser to stall? Presumably the Merc diffuser is just on the edge of stalling with the rake they've got and adding the shroom suspension would stall the diffuser.

Maybe McLaren are forced to go with the mushroom suspension because they can't get enough rake into the car?

Υep, that's how it should look. I can tolerate the sidepod colours we have now, but if they want a black engine cover, that's the way to go.

allot of teams at the rear of the car have a solution with the break light where it has a U shape and drops significantly below the exhaust before coming back up to what i assume to be regulation Hight. Mercedes however just comes straight out following the line of the exhaust. If you look at Red bull you will see what i mean of the different ways teams have treated this area. thoughts?

Asked if there was more performance available to Mercedes from its power unit, Hamilton confirmed the team was running with the engine turned down.

“We can [turn it up] if we need to, but we don't need to right now. I have no idea [how much], there are so many different engine maps I don't know which one it is; they just tell me to put it in one. But I'm told there is more…”

Love the shot of the steering wheel, too bad not all buttons can be seen. Crazy device this is. Love the Hi-Speed sticker and the red button with the white X.

Very good spot AMG.Tzan, it looks like different cooling solution exiting the engine cover, much larger.

They will only go near the highest power map for Qualy.. It's likely they havn't even run it yet...Will be pushing the engine to it's limits in the final 2 days or final day i'd suspect.
