Being gifted a lap, free wing change, using DRS to destroy lesser cars. Such good recovery  Lets not get ahead of ourselves, he did what was expected to after the restart but that's all.
Ninth to second in about 20 laps is a great recovery, whatever spin you want to put on it. Sure he got a big slice of fortune today but he still had to pass a lot of cars to regain second.
Raikkonen spun before restart got underway so he restarted in P8. Perez was another free position. So he overtook 5 drivers on his way to P2. Some of those cars were seconds per lap slower than him, and he passed almost all cars with a zero skill DRS fly-by. Not least in a car that looked insanely fast on straight, gaining up to 1s under drs.

That horrendous race start and mid-race mistake pretty much made this race one of hamilton's worst ones in ages, so how people can say it was a good drive in any kind of way is baffling.
HAM had great pace once his inters were warmed up and closed up within 1 second of VER despite FW damage.

Wasn't his best drive, but he definitely had pace and put it to work to make up for his mistake.

Yep, red flag BS, Hamilton got way lucky.
Mclaren and Ferrari got screwed over big time.
’red flag BS’.

You did see the amount of work needed to get the track cleaned right?
Yeah and all the lapped cars got to make up their time deltas. Virtual safety car requires you to maintain deltas, why shouldn't rolling restarts or safety cars? Yeah I get it, it's entertainment, and I certainly was entertained!
No it’s literally in the rules.
I’ll tell you what was made up in the fly though. How they restarted. Now remind me who did that favour?

I think some of the max fans are ignoring the fact that Max almost lost it before the restart.
But, as with Lewis, the way they handle the fallout of a mistake is the difference between being a champion or not.

Well done to both of them

You think a VSC was the appropriate course of action there? Come on. Stop joking with us.

Edit- sorry, misread that.

But as others have said the rules are the rules! How did you feel last season when time after time safety cars brought Verstappen right back on the tail of the Mercedes cars after they’d built up a sizeable lead? Unfair?

A virtual safety car still requires the cars on the track driving through a debris field which is what the FIA and the teams don't want!
The red flag was fine. It was a shame that there was no standing restart, that would have been more exciting.

Funny the announcer now can't yell "now THE CHAMPAGNE!!!". And just of note it isn't owned by Ferrari it's been around before the Scuderia

It is pity you cannot enjoy watching GOAT. :) You will miss him in couple of years..

Ah. So basically it’s just unfair now because it helped Hamilton. Got it.
Nah if the tables were turned the Ham fans would be saying the same thing. It doesn't change the fact HAM made mistakes and got resoundly beat by Verstappen today.

With a damaged front wing don’t forget. Stellar drive by HAM

It was red flag worthy, it wasn't simply 2 beached cars, the track was filthy, i don't know how one could argue against that.

I don't understand why people are being bitter about Lewis. He drove amazing after his slice of luck.

"And now the Italian sparking wine", or "and now the Metodo Classico!" :)

Italian sounds just as good as French to be honest...

There you go again with putting words in mouth, I'm talking about deltas, never did I say it should have been a VSC.

Yet he still sits in second in the championship!
