2009 Honda Rear Wing?

I picked up this rear wing element recently, it's supposedly from Honda. I'd love to know more about it, if anyone can help.

The measurements are 73cm wide x 32cm chord. So that's why I think it's a 2009 spec wing, i.e the 2009 regs specified a maximum 75cm rear wing.

The Brawn rear wing was completely different to this wing. Honda did a test day with a 2009 front wing on their 2008 car, with Bruno Senna and Lucas DiGrassi doing the driving, but the rear wing in the photos isn't the one I have here. I think the wing was run on a car because it has plenty of stone chips.

I would dare to say it is a 2010 wing profile.

It got the center slot, and close to that 2 holes in the wing profile, normally covered up with a panel. Similar to the Mercedes W01 wing.

I think it was on a Honda RA108 (the 2008 model) because it has the two upright centre supports underneath.

The W01 and the Brawn GP01 had no supports underneath.

I found a great set of photos from the test with the mixed 2008 and 2009 Honda. It's fairly clear they didn't test a 2009 rear wing. I had hoped my wing with RA108 supports and 2009 dimensions would have been in the photos!

Given that Honda was testing a lot in those days, with a seperate test team + Super Aguri, I won't be able to track down the wing. Still it's interesting to see the construction and paint of the wing. Anyone guess what was stuck to the top side (there are two large patches of bare carbon where something was stuck on and has been pulled off)?

Can you take a photo square on of wing profile?

If the wing element is from Honda it should have a 12-digit laser edged parts number somewhere on it. These can be very small and hard to spot. If the wing element is a 2008 part it should have 1080 or 1081 as the first four digits of the parts number, and if its from 2009 it will be 1090. The complete number will look something like this: 1081-F02-0143/1. I have a fair few Honda parts, incl. wings, but I am not familiar with the wing element in your photos.

Thanks for letting me know that. I found the part number, but it's not in the Honda pattern, and was scratched on the part by hand. 09J21-0009 9/201 R50

could it be a Sauber wing element? If I'm correct that one has the double pillars and the slot in the centre section of the wing profile

It could be from anything really, there's a set of those double pillars from a Honda RA108 listed on ebay now. I don't think they'll fit my wing though.

Edit: was just doing some ebay browsing, spotted these Honda parts that have a similar part number pattern to the wing:
07J22 0241 ISS01
06J01-0198 ISS01 6 06

Neither of those are laser etched like f1snake's parts. Maybe test parts / mock-ups had a different numbering system

It's fairly light alright, but not crazy light. I'll weigh it at the weekend
