asking about suspension push and pull

Post

hi I'm new in formula one, could you explain about suspension. what is pull rod and push rod suspension? what mean it it's soft suspension and hard suspension. what is dampers, rebound and other technical things that hard to understand. it's technical for me, I need layman's term to understand it.

Have you tried using the search facility or even just Google? There is a lot of beginner level stuff on these subjects on the 'net.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.

Thank you for your post!! In spite of being involved in racing as a driver/mechanic/builder, having raced and prepared cars for tar and asphalt ovals, Kart racing, Formula Ford racing and having read Carol Smiths books, Race car engineering books, Race car and road car aerodynamics books and online articles and basically anything I can or could get my hands on I have always felt "uneducated" when in the presence of other posters on this forum. Now for the first time I actually think I may know more than someone else here!!

So to return the favour here is my answer to your question. F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport and what you are asking are the basic fundamentals. So maybe start with Carol Smiths books, online answers to basic suspension questions, some basic aerodynamic questions and answers. Also suspension requirements of different racing categories. I can promise you one thing, if you have a genuine passion and curiosity for the above mentioned knowledge you are about to embark on the most amazing journey you ever dreamed of! Enjoy!

and thank you again :)

In layman's terms, an F1 suspension is just a system of links, rods, rocker arms, springs, bearings and fluid dampeners that are designed to maintain an optimum geometric relationship between the chassis, bodywork, tires and track surface while traveling around the race circuit.

Since your question shows you may have very little knowledge on the matter, I wouldn't start by trying to understand F1 suspension right away. I believe this could be a good start.
