Mclaren Asymmetrical Exhaust

Post

I searched but couldn't find any threads explaining the reason for Mclaren's asymmetrical exhaust. Can someone shed some light on this design and the performance advantage its designer intended?

The water and oil cooling are on seperate sides of the car. Sometimes, the difference in their cooling requirement forces a different need of opening of the bodywork around the exhaust.
Most teams run different colling exits on occasion, McLaren's is a little more obvious than most though.

I just hate seeing how they have just a hole in the bodywork on one side and a huge chimney spout on the other (sometimes)
