A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Current Formula 1 car sidepod area sizes more larger than pre-2022 cars in fact

Post

As you seen the top roll hoop driver onboard view on television, the sidepod area sizes on current Formula 1 car are more larger and the sizes are nearly as large as Dallara IR-05 (2007-2011) IndyCar Series car sidepods

Here’s the look of the current generation of Formula 1 and pre-DW12 IndyCar cars sidepod areas:

And here’s the pre-2022 Formula 1 car sidepod areas:

Pre-2022 Formula 1 cars sidepod areas were compact and not as large as current one. Your thoughts?

The insides are not so large, they sidepod volume is often bumped up for aero reasons, often in a grotesque manner due to the R50 rule. See "zero pods" for the real internals size.
Rivals, not enemies.
