New fords suck, only the old one's are any good

Post

To tie in with a discussion on the video topic here it is the ford sucks topic. Here for all your rants about new fords and to go down memory lane and think about the happy *ugh* british Leyland times before ford swallowed a majority of the british marquees. No foul language about range rovers though they only got better!

Let's kick it of: Jaguar!

Ford Cosworth DFV, arguably the most successful motor ever in F1. Maybe a little respect to the company that arranged the people to make a motor that helped shape F1 to what it is today, regardless of their current state of affairs.

At least they were smarter the Toyota and didn't keep belching money into a non winnning, non progressive environment.

In the video forum I just said that Ford NEW line (Ka, Fiesta, Focus, Ranger, Ecosport, F100, Mondeo) that is sold in Argentina sucks!

Ej:
Fiesta :( Peugeot 206 :D Fiat Palio :D
Focus :( Peugeot 307 :D CitroenC4 :D VW Vento :D (Jetta in other countries)
Mondeo :( Peugeot 407 :D Renault Laguna :D VW Passat :D
Ranger :( Toyota Hilux :D Dodge RAM :D

and thats they way you go...

I have little respect for Ford, and remember they had little to do with the design of the DFV, just the financing of it.

I always found the names quite amusing though:
Fiesta, Escort, Probe.
All magazines on the top shelf of the local newagent.

What do you think of the 306 Baelatti?

I personally never liked Ford, but I have a lot of respect for their sport involvement, like the Gr. A Sierras and the rally cars, beginning with the fantastic Escort in the 70's, the RS200...

Wow, that's some harsh comments there. I can understand that Ford did some damage in managing badly some UK manufacturers, but as a whole the brand is full of legends.
The GT40 is one of the greatest legend of motor racing, the Sierra was great, the Escort and RS2000 were also masterpieces of rally, and right now, the new Focus is giving Citroen a hard time too!

I would understand someone to say "Hyundai sucks" or "Dacia is BS", (although it would be harsh too), but c'mon, Ford is Ford!

Beside, I'll never forget my father's Scorpio Ghia. It was a heavy tank with a cunsumption rate between 18L/100km and 21L/100km  , but back in the early 90's, it was really a futuristic car in terms of equipments, at least for the current european standards.

I have no complaints about my 1998 Ranger, but I'd rather ride my Honda, it's faster! :D
