Mc Laren was the first team to introduce chimneys in modern F1 era in 2000 . Firstly they had only cooling contribution but in some years their role became more and more aerodynamic . In some cases their hole was even closed and used only as air guides (Ferrari) . Now all the teams have chimneys and became important for a good aeroefficiency .
