MTV Simtek
Based in: Banbury Founded: 1989 (active 1994-1995) Principal: Nick Wirth |
Nick Wirth had undertaken design work on many recent F1 cars when Max Mosley was a part owner of Simtek Research. With the backing of the Brabham family their debut year was especially fraught with the death of newcomer Roland Ratzenberger.
1995 was also less than successful, mainly as a result of David Brabham leaving to drive a BMW in the British Touring Car series. The money ran out in Monaco and the team folded. Wirth moved on to Benetton.
