The Manor Marussia F1 Team first competed in Formula One in 2015, emerging from the ashes of the Marussia F1 Team, after Marussia, a Russian car manufacturer, went defunct.
The F1 team exited adminstration on 19 February 2015 and restarted under the name Manor Marussia F1 Team.
The change was the beginning of a major restructuring, including key appointments and departures. Bob Bell was hired as a technical consultant in May, along with Gianluca Pisanello, formerly of Caterham F1 as chief engineer, and former Toro Rosso chief designer, Luca Furbatto, as head of design. The changes also resulting in the departure of Graeme Lowdon and John Booth. The two had been involved in the team since its very beginning but cited differences with new team owner Stephen Fitzpatrick.
The team competed under the constructor name MRT which stands for Manor Racing Team.
MRT was a short lived adventure, as their parent company, Just Racing Services, was put into administration on 6 January 2017. The company collapsed after failing to find a buyer. The F1 Team collapsed before the start of the 2017 season.
