Former driver, Merzario turned his hand as a constructor when his racing career waned, but his cars proved ineffective.

A merger with the Kauhsen operation was equally unsuccessful and the A2 and A4 designs never made the grid.

Merzario turned his attention to F2 and continued with this series until it became F3000.
