After a career as driver and entrant in America, wealthy businessman Roger Penske decided to tackle F1, using Graham McRae's old workshop as his base. After a successful but tragic period, in which his friend and regular driver Mark Donohue was killed, Penske sold his cars to ATS and returned to the US racing scene.
He has since become a mainstay of the IndyCar movement, owning various circuits and going on to be the most successful IndyCar entrant of all time. It is often hinted that Penske may return to F1 racing but so far that hasn't happened.
