One time F1 entrants with March and Williams chassis, the team had strong March connections and brought the constructor back into Grand Prix in 1981- 82.

The March name was retained the following year but these were the first true RAM cars. An unsuccessful period followed and although Mike Thackwell tested in Rio prior to the 1986 season, the team folded through lack of funds.
