In this picture, on the left tire on the upper right hand side of it, you can see the air egress brake duct.Waz wrote: ↑09 Apr 2024, 12:23Ahhh, thanks, I didn't think about the effect of wheel spinning affecting them.diffuser wrote: ↑08 Apr 2024, 16:12Like you said the wheel will spin. This will cause the air to spin in there and the rim will block the exit to the outside but I think that's trying to pull the air inwards instead of staying stagnant in an effort to decrease hotspots.Waz wrote: ↑08 Apr 2024, 15:45
I'm curious about these. It's obviously a non-rotating part, and looks like it's creating an outwash? Am I correct?
But isn't the wheel fitting over these with a cover that prevents outwash? What am I not understanding properly about the intended effect of these?
I haven't seen any other photos of a team with fins like this on the brake covers.
Thanks in advance for the more knowledgeable people who normally come to the rescue and answer these questions.
So it's more about brake temperature control than directing air. Interesting solution , and I remember the AMR23 having some brake temp issues.
