Wait a minute, they took the experimental floor to Qatar for a sprint weekend? Another test in the only practice? Risky.

They must have found something with the new floor.

Think for 2 seconds. It's a triple header. They take with them what they took to Vegas. They will take it to AD as well. The cargo goes straight from one venue to the next. It being on the car for pit stop practice means it's either going to stay on the car or they are okay with it being damaged. There will be no testing on a sprint weekend.

Ted Kravitz was adamant that if the floor was an improvement we’d see it again this season and I totally agreed with him. Seems he was right

Leclerc will bring to the track in FP1 in Doha the experimental surface tested by Sainz in Las Vegas (very positive feedback). The important news is that he could stay in the car if the testing Qatari circuit confirms its goodness
ps. Cavallino's men themselves expected to never see this floor again after Vegas.

I was more pointing out the fact that you were surprised by it appearance in Qatar. I quite literally said it would be on the car if they plan on running it, which they are. It'll only come off IF CL is not satisfied to continue running it. Again as the article states he'll run it if he is happy with it.

I mean judging by the article, I wasn't the only one surprised, and the team was too.
" Cavallino's men themselves expected to never see him again."
But it's good news, and more tests for 2025 and positive feedback from Vegas that dares to give more confidence to Charles.

With 2 qualifying sessions and sprint do they have spares for new floor if they are going to keep it ? Why Sainz not using new floor ?

I believe there's only one example of this floor, no spares, not even 1 to fit to Carlos's car.

Probably they only have one spare, finished to build this week

Running with no spare is dangerous, if you break it in qualy then you have to start the race from the pit with a different spec part fitted on the car

They didn't have a spare, just the one fitted to Leclerc's car.

Which for a sprint weekend is totally fine  if you know it might be an issue ahead of time. This is why it was not used in Vegas but raced in Qatar imo

Were there any changes to the diffuser with the new floor? Can't seem to find any decent photos of the rear of the car.
